![]() ![]() It lifted its head and looked to one side and for the first time the Mooshka's nose caught that strange, ancient scent that had been teasing him for so long in full force! It did not move, except for one hand, tracing the ground with one long finger. Was it a trick? Did it know it was being followed? Freezing in place, the Mooshka watched it carefully through small gaps in the brush. His nose instantly told him it was the young Sasquatch. He threw aside the fear and bounded ahead through tall, ancient boulders that were weathered and worn into fantastic shapes.Ībruptly he found himself in a cool pine forest, a thick layer of needles softening the ground and the sounds of his pursuit. It had made him cautious but now the scent of the Sasquatch and sweet vengeance for his brother was so close and fresh it encouraged him to move faster. Yet here there was an ancient taste in the air and he sensed a great presence watching over the mountain. Mooshka rarely felt danger threaten, they were at the top of the food chain, mostly. Something about this place made his senses tingle. For some time now it had been leading him into the rugged arms of a strange mountain he had never seen before. Now his nose told him the young Sasquatch was only a few minutes ahead and the Mooshka picked up the pace. Indeed it had been bleeding badly for a long distance before the steady dripping had slowed and stopped. He could smell it was weak and injured, pushing itself on and on. He should have caught the youngster by now but amazingly it did not stop even during the bright light of day to rest. The thought of it drove him on and he travelled fast on all fours, loping through the long miles with fresh strength. ![]() With the reduction in pain renewed vigour fuelled his need for vengeance. With the passing time his broken head throbbed less and even the burns on his back seemed to be healing. The relationship that Alexis shares with each of her mates is a beautiful development and so is the promise of a happy family at the end of the series.The Mooshka was steadily gaining on the young Sasquatch.įor days now his nose had led him on, through fields, past farmhouses and barns, stopping only once to snatch up a cat and steal some chickens. The last shifter series has a lot of love to offer. This repetitive theme continuously stresses on the need for love in our world. Those who have lived their lives forgotten by everyone around them are the ones suffering at the hands of fate. The fact is that there are people in the world with no one to care for. One thing that saddened me was the small snippet of the real world that started the torture of the shifters. The victims are in hiding the attackers are openly assaulting any human they can lay their hands on. ![]() Despite this, the fascination of every change in the characters, the setting keeps the stories fresh. The themes of several books merge themselves according to the underlying basis of good and evil. When one reads too much I am sure several of you are bookaholics. It is another story of power corrupting men, but not quite the same. It is fantasy with a healthy dose of science mixed in. The series is a roller coaster ride if the roller-coaster is an apocalypse. Luckily or unluckily, her future involves 4 men, who definitely hadn’t expected her. Living by the day has made Alexis feel protected, even as she is not sure of her future. The series features Alexis, Rhys, Noah, Jackson and West as they meet by coincidence, mate by fate, and are en route to an epic battle for their survival. This post is about her Last Shifter series.
